Hit the pavement and explore more than 23 galleries on and around Julia Street as they open their doors to the community. Immerse yourself in the work of New Orleans' diverse artists, and just maybe take some of it home with you!
In tandem with the Block Party and other Arts District Openings, the CAC celebrates the premiere of its annual Open Call Exhibition, featuring 30+ Louisiana artists. This year’s exhibition explores identity as a complex entanglement of Lived Experiences.
Held in the CAC’s Camp Street Warehouse featuring music, dancing, and art-related entertainment, plus an offering multiple bars and food vendors from 9 PM to midnight. Annually, the "Party After Dark" attracts more than 1,800 guests.
At a private venue near Julia Street, slightly removed from the festive Block Party, the CAC Cool Down Lounge provides a soothing alternative to the August heat with food, drink, and private restrooms for all sponsors and approximately 150 VIP ticket buyers.
In 1994, the Contemporary Arts Center and the burgeoning Warehouse Arts District (now Arts District New Orleans) founded White Linen Night to bring our community together through art as a form of creative placemaking. Now, 25 years later, thanks to vital support from arts catalyst and Title Sponsor Hancock Whitney, the arts district is now a bustling crossroads of art, creativity, and commerce.
The Contemporary Arts Center, New Orleans is a multidisciplinary arts center dedicated to the presentation, production, and promotion of the art of our time. The CAC is a cultural leader and as such, it organizes presents, and tours curated exhibitions, performances, and programs by local, regional, national, and international artists to engage diverse community audiences through children and adult education and public programs. White Linen Night raises funds to support these CAC programs and help to sustain the Arts District New Orleans.
